Music Producer – Recording / Mixing / Mastering Engineer / Educator
Born in Madrid, he started his career early at the age of 15 and in his formative years, he grew up influenced by the massive 70’s – 80’s music scene at that time.
Interested in technology, blending sounds, textures, rhythms and ambient electronica, he began making music and soon he started experimenting with machines and software and taught himself to play the keyboard and program synthesizers.
After graduating in Sound Engineering, he started his own studio producing and working with record labels such as Edel Music, Universal, Defected and Sony. Also he honed his skills engineering and producing in different recording studios in Madrid and London working with music identities like Sandy Rivera, Booty Luv, Joy Malcom ( Moby ), Tara McDonald ( Armand Van Helden ) , Fedde le Grand, Jocelyn Brown, Angie Brown between many others in the electronica scene.
Jonathan has seen success on both sides of the Atlantic, having had a handful of his tracks hitting the top then in the Club Breakers and Cool Cuts charts in the UK in 2006 onwards as well as reaching the top 15 of the US dance charts and top 5 in the UK.
He has also been working under the name of Soul Survivors with releases on Ministry of Sound / Hed Kandi and Defected and also under the name of SUROH, which later on become MINOLOGY.
MINOLOGY’s “Inner Sanctum” concept album is a fusion of Spanish flamenco and cinematic eletronica, drenched in memorable epic hooks and haunting Middle Eastern melodies. All of this glued together and presented beautifully in an organic format. www.minologymusic.com
